Teacher Training at Pilates at the core
Pilates at the Core is delighted to offer an exclusive Teacher Training program led by Penelope Barrow, a second-generation classical teacher trained by the esteemed Romana Kryzanowska, a protégé of Joseph Pilates. Penelope was handpicked to be one of Romana’s select independent study students during the peak of Romana’s teaching career in the mid-1990s. Additionally, Penelope directed the Pilates Center in Atlanta, the first certified studio and training center in the Southeast. During her tenure as director, she assisted Romana with numerous training programs, gaining invaluable insights into both the classical method and instructor training.
For the past 25 years, Penelope has been running her own training programs, certifying classically trained Pilates instructors across the United States and authoring her own manual. The Teacher Training Program at Pilates at the Core is a boutique, hands-on experience, offering each student exceptional training in the classical method as Joseph Pilates originally intended. The studio is equipped with traditionally designed equipment, crafted to the original specifications handed down from Joe to Mr. Gratz and his successors. This comprehensive 600-hour program provides in-depth training with dedicated instructors who are passionate about continuing Joe’s legacy.
